Out of the Old Into the New

 Psalm 29, Romans 8

We live in a day when religion is out of date and secular religion is on the rise.  It is an oxymoron.  We refuse to live by the power of the Holy Spirit and put to death the old way of living.  Instead we emphasis the flesh; diet, fitness, drugs, wealth, ignoring that this body will pass away.

As sons and daughters of God we should not fear.  No life is not necessarily a cake walk.  However being a child of God we are heirs and experience the Spirit of adoption.  We can rest in confidence in our "Abba Father.  (Romans 8:15)

Since today is the 1st day of the rest of your life ask yourself what it is you want to do.  The story is told about how Steve Jobs, one of the founder of Apple computer, convinced John Sculley, a Pepsi executive, to come to Apple computer.  He finally said to John, "Do you want to sell sugar water the rest of your life, or do you want to come with me and change the world?"  So I ask, Do you want to spend your life on the treadmill of the flesh, or do you want to live in holiness and freedom in Christ and experience being a child of God?  Think about it!
