Deo Gloria - Glory to God Alone
is exalted praise. If God doesn't get the exalted praise who
does? The answer is man. When God receives the praise the
results are beneficial. When man receives the praise that belongs to
God, the results are disastrous. Following are some examples that
bear out this truth.
of Praise belonging to God:
34:14 - (for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose
name is Jealous, is a jealous God)
19:1.+.... - The heavens declare the glory of God, and the
sky above proclaims his handiwork..............
42:8 - I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no
other, nor my praise to carved idols.
where man take praise that belongs to God:
3:4-5 - But the serpent said to the woman, "You will not
surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will
be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and
evil." [You are NOT to be God]
4: 28-30-37 - "Is not this great Babylon, which I have
built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my
majesty?" [No Self Exaltation]
1:18-23 - and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images
resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
