Psalms-A Form of Prayer

Matthew 3:1-17

Baptism is a sign of identifying with Christ in His death and resurrection.  It represent a death to the old life and birth to a new life in Christ.  One enters into the life of a church and full participation in the congregation.  We baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Scriptural understanding regarding the salvation experience:

  • The Spirit draws one to recognize their need of a savior.

  • The decision is personal; not of age or parents or any other parameter.

  • It is the result of one having come to an informed faith.

  • The decision is individual but the expression is not private.

  • Baptism is an outward expression of what has already taken place is the individual.

  • Matthew 28:19 instructs us to baptize in the name of Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
