As the time for Jesus' crucifixion drew near he met Moses and Elijah on the mountain. He probably received encouragement knowing what lay ahead. It was obviously a struggle for Him in His humanity. At the last supper he was troubled in spirit knowing he would be betrayed. When Jesus cried out "It is Finished" and the temple veil was ripped in two it occurred at the time the evening sacrifice was being prepared. Little did they realize that the final sacrifice had just been accomplished.
One of the last lessons that Jesus again reinforce to his disciples and all follower since is that they are to have a servant attitude. He demonstrated this my washing his disciples feet. John 13:1-17.
