Psalm 90

Psalm 90:1-17

Psalm 90 begins with the reminder of the eternity of God and His awesome power.  Compared to God man is extremely limited and the span of his day approximately 70 to 80 years.  Man is like the grass, here today and gone tomorrow.

  • Verse 12 reminds us to number our days.  This is a reminder to think about our days and how we live.  Be prepared for death or the second coming.  To not consider and think about our days and how we live would be foolishness.

  • Verse 14-15 tells us of God's mercy.  Oh that we would understand His mercy so that our days will be days of gladness.  We should petition for God's mercy so that our days will be joyful, not full sorrowful.

  • Verse 16-17 is our request for for His favor so that the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us
