Continuation of the Gospel of John -
Jesus' First Miracle

John 2:1-11, II Corinthians 4:1-10

Jesus along with his disciples had been invited to a wedding at Cana in Galilee.  About the third day of the wedding feast the wine ran out.  This was not good.  Jesus was informed of the situation by his mother.  It was at this time that Jesus performed his first miracle of turning water into wine.

Jesus instructed the servant at the wedding to fill some large jars with water.  When the water was taken out of the jars and given to the master of the feast he wondered why the best wine had been saved for last.

In II Corinthians 4:7-10 we have the teaching of the treasure in Jars of Clay.  We are Jars of Clay.  When we know the Lord we have the treasure of the gospel within.  This good news should be shared with those around us just like the good wine was shared with the guest at the wedding of Cana in Galilee.

Therefore, let us be the clay pots God want us to be to share his word through us to bring healing to those around us.
