Testimony Time

John 5:16 - 5:47

Jesus is speaking from His heart and affirming the relationship between he and God his father.  This upset the Jewish leadership to the point where they wanted him dead.  WHY?  They wanted to judge him by their understand of the law.  He flipped the table or them.

Why did they want him dead:

• They were losing their power grip.

• Jesus told them that the Father had appointed him to be judge.  In other words, Jesus whom they hated will be their judge.

• It seems as if God had actually hardened their hearts like he did to Pharaoh.

• Little were they aware that their selfishness resulted in them doing God's will.

Evidence affirming Jesus:

• When Jesus was baptized it was God who spoke; "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased!"  Matthew 3:17

• Miracles are a sign of God's power.

Conclusion:  Look at yourself and ask, what is your testimony.
