The Crucifixion

Luke 23:21-49, John 19:17-42

Similar to last week, when Jesus was in control of His trial, here at the crucifixion He gave up His life.  It was not taken from Him, He was in control when He said "It is finished."  When His work on earth was finished at that very moment the veil in the temple was rent from top to bottom.

The crucifixion:

• Could it be that Christ's admonition to be strong caused Peter drew his sword that ended up cutting off the ear of the high priest servant?   In Luke 22:51 we learn that Jesus touched the ear and healed him.  This is Jesus' last miracle.
