Wrapping
Up Series on Christian World View
Ephesians
2:1-10, Colossians
1:15-23
The
Christian World View gives answers to the big questions. Examples
will follow later. Because of the preeminence of Christ, you can't
have a Christian World View without Christ. Knowing Christ comes
through a changed heart. The Bible is God word. We don't
worship the book, is it the message we follow.
Answers
to big questions:
-
There is
a God
-
God
created the Universe. God also created man and created him in
His image
-
Mankind
has fallen and therefore we are messed up. We have a predisposition
to sin.
-
The
Bible is God's word. We worship the message, not the book.
-
Jesus
Christ is God's son. He revealed who God is. Whoever
has seen me has seen the Father. God raised him from the
dead. He has died for our sins. Salvation is available if
we accept him as our Lord and Savior.
-
There
are only two destinies after you die. It is heaven or hell.
Follow
up to the big questions:
-
How we
view the big questions effects how we relate to other Christians and
how we relate to the world.
-
The big
question are non-negotiable. To reject anyone of these is what
the Apostle Paul calls another gospel, We must be aware of heresy.
-
Other
groups that have the same core values and agree on the the big
questions should be accepted as part of the invisible church. We
should not avoid fellowship with them.
-
To say
we follow a man like Menno or Luther or any other man does not
represent a mature Christian.
-
Differences
on sub-issues such as form of baptism should not be divisive.
-
Our
witness to the world is to show sacrificial love. This is how we
connect to the world.
"A
Christianity that believers it needs a political party, president,
legislation, and a
nation to ensure its survival is a Christianity that actually dethrones
Jesus as savior
of the nations and advances a belief that Jesus needs nation to be his
savior."
