Seven Disciplines

I Corinthians 3:6-9

Today's message is Seven Disciplines for Joining God's Mission.  God mission is that every single person will be transformed and made whole through Jesus.  This mission is to be our mission.  This mission is to be our priority.  This mission is for all God's people, not just certain people.  To join in God's mission takes work.

The Seven Disciplines:

1. Matthew 5:14,16 - Let you life be a witness to others.  Our lives are our most basic witness.

2. Luke 15:1-2 - Build relationships with the lost.  God calls us to go forth and engage with those who are not like us.  Make time to build relationships.

3. Matthew 9:36 - Regularly ask God to give you compassion for the lost.  Jesus' compassion will stretch us.

4. I Timothy 2:4 - Regularly pray for someone who is lost.

5. Colossians 4:5-6 - Be alert for opportunities to share.  Pray for an open door of opportunity this week.  Don't sleep walk through life.

6. Luke 14:23 - Invite people to be a part of the kingdom.  Who can you invite to come to church; to be part of a church.

7. Hebrews 13:2 - Welcome with love all who come.  Be warm and friendly.  Make room for someone.  Include them.

• Even with all our work that God call us to do, in the end it's God who counts.  It is God who gives the life and growth.
